 The New Kingsboro Civic League

A meeting for the purpose of reorganizing the "Kingsboro Civic League was brought to order on June 9, 2014 at 7 pm at Colbourn Park.

Open discussion included references to meeting announcement signs posted on Katherine and on Pinner, for this meeting (and future meetings), other methods of spreading the word among our neighbors in Kingsboro regarding future meetings and an uptick of crime in Kingsboro.

Before continuing, a call for election of officers was made, terms for previous officers having expired. The following slate was nominated and elected unanimously and can be viewed in the contacts.

Following the election of officers, more open discussion produced the following:

1:Acknowledgement that KCL would have a louder voice with the city than any individual.

2: A need to investigate procedures for closing out the old bank account and opening a new one.

3:Securing agenda items for next meeting.

4: A consensus was reached on having the next meeting on the 1st Monday of each month , in the park at 7 pm.

Old by-laws etc, will be reviewed, updated as necessary.
Dues will remain as they were previously; $12.50 for an individual and $25.00 per household. The need for a newsletter (on line as well as hard copy distribution) to encourage more of our neighbors to join. Ron Pier will expand KCL website. Further discussion needed on "friendly" approach for properties needing timely maintenance. Beginning at next meeting, dues will be collected.

Kingsboro Civic League By-Laws

MEET PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Kingsboro Civic League

Kingsboro Civic League is a group of neighbors that meet once a month at 6:30 PM on the third Tuesday of each month. It is open to homeowners, renters and business owners. Guest speakers, city representatives or members of our Police Dept are invited to attend to share information about what is going on in our community or just to answer our questions.

Past meetings have led to the painting of the guardrail at the corner of Katherine St and Constance Rd, cleanups and now further sprucing up planned for Colbourn Park, and testing of traffic issues on Katherine St.

CHECK US OUT AT THE NEXT MEETING!

What can Kingsboro Civic League do for you or your neighborhood? Are there speeding or other traffic issues, problems with your trash, problems with children in the street?

Share your ideas and concerns. Your input and participation would be welcomed. Visit our website @ kcleague.com.

 A Note To Neighbors

KCL is here for all of us! None of the current members want the league to be any kind of exclusive clique. We need as many folks as possible to help make our neighborhood friendly, appealing and welcoming. Because our community is important to us, a group of neighbors came together to reactivate the civic league. We can accomplish so much as a group that would be difficult for any one individual. Please don't hesitate to attend even if you can't or don't want to join. Your input is still valuable and can improve the KCL's awareness of many situations that might otherwise go unnoticed. Plus, you might just meet a new friend, learn something new about our community, our city or maybe even be able to vent a little about a problem you thought was only yours. Come on out and check out the KCL.
